BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Sport

Combining Education, Football and Futsal performance in a comprehensive development programme.

Set up in 2011 Saints Foundation’s full-time BTEC Level 3 focusing on performance and excellence in sport provides school leavers with a unique opportunity to continue their education and personal development at the heart of St Mary’s Stadium, the home of Southampton FC.

Available to 16-18 year olds and providing the equivalent of three A levels, the BTEC Level 3 course uniquely combines ‘best in class’ teaching alongside representing Southampton FC in regional and National Football and Futsal leagues against other Premier and Football League clubs.

The course is well suited to students interested in continuing their education alongside football performance with an interest in pursuing a career in the sport, leisure and community sector. Our programme also caters for those students wishing to progress to higher education to study a sport related degree such as Football or Sports Studies, Physical Education with QTS or Sports Development and Coaching.

The BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) is a specialist work related course covering the core elements of sporting performance and excellence such as Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, Coaching, Analysis and Technical and Tactical development.
