First Alumni graduates for Saints Foundation’s Education department

Saints Foundation are proud to have it’s first Alumni from it’s degree programme.

The Foundation’s degree programme has been running at St Mary’s Stadium since 2014 and is a two year degree, with the option of a third year top-up to a Bsc Honours in Football Coaching, Development and Administration.

Today has seen our first alumni, Will Carr and Jack Nash, graduate with a Bsc Hons after completing the top-up year in addition to the Foundation Degree.

Over the course of the degree, both have actively been part of setting up a Futsal Academy and have worked over various projects within the Foundation, most notably in the Education department.

As former scholars on the Education BTEC programme, both of the graduates have completed work-based learning for the duration of their degree and are now in a strong position to apply for jobs within the Foundation or across the sport and development sectors in future.

Commenting on their success, Jack said “I have been with the Foundation since 2012, throughout my time in the Foundation I have received so many great opportunities for work experience, which has really helped me develop as a person. I’m now in the process of applying for various jobs to start my career in the industry.”

Will, who graduated from the BTEC programme with triple distinction star (equivalent to 3 A* at A level), commented, “My time with the Foundation has really shown me what the industry is all about and what type of things to expect. I can honestly say I’ve learned so much from my lecturers and others within the organisation. These experiences I’ve had here will undoubtedly make me a better, more confident person and put me in much better positions to start finding full time employment within the football industry.”
