Southampton FC’s Nathan Redmond recently visited Bassett Green Primary School, as part of Kick it Out’s ‘Next 20’ campaign.

30 pupils from Bassett Green Primary and Cantell Schools were treated to a visit from the Premier League star, who joined in on a workshop that was being delivered by Kick It Out’s Paul Mortimer.

The ‘Next 20’ campaign revolves around 20 young players, who spread Kick It Out’s key messages about equality and inclusion.

Nathan said, “It’s just about getting them to understand the differences between people and what can and can’t be said, just to broaden their knowledge a little bit”.

As one of the campaigns ambassadors, Nathan joined in with students on the equality-themed workshop, before answering questions on racism in football.

Nathan’s two-hour stay at Bassett Green ended with a photo and autograph opportunity for all the participating students and teachers.
