Saints Foundation host sixth annual Saints4Sport tournament

Saints Foundation were delighted to host our sixth annual Saints4Sport football tournament in Southampton today, welcoming teams from across the South of England to come and compete.

Fourteen teams came to celebrate the positive change our service users and adults at risk have achieved over the last 12-months, showcasing how football can be used as a tool to promote healthier wellbeing.

Brighton & Hove’s Albion in the Community made the trip along the coast, joining Hampshire Police, Society of St James and longtime Saints4Sport supporters The Highfield Company and many more for the competitive affair.

After a fiercely contested tournament, it was a team of current Saints4Sport participants who took home the trophy, winning 4-1 in the final.

Our Saint4Sport project works with adults who have faced some of life’s biggest challenges, including homelessness, mental health issues or substance and alcohol misuse.

Working with over 400 participants per year, the project offers a structured timetable of activity to help put routine and purpose back into participant’s lives, whilst offering accredited outcomes, volunteering, work experience and long-term employment opportunities.
